Do We Still Believe??

Okay, so last season wasn't the greatest for the Red Sox. Not only did they not win the World Series - they weren't even a playoff contender. In the AL wild card race, the Red Sox blew a 9-game lead, and with it, their 99.7% chance of making the playoffs. They fell to the Baltimore Orioles (who don't necessarily have the greatest winning reputation), and thus 2011 was left in the past.

Looking back over the last several decades, consumers have greeted and cherished a variety of iconic vehicles. In the second half of the 20th century, roads became littered with Ford Thunderbirds, Chevrolet Impalas, and the Oldsmobile Cutlass. Each model offered what the general population wanted: a powerful engine and, for that time, a comfortable ride. They also shared another common feature: harmful emissions and poor gas mileage. Back then, we didn't know the effect of emissions, and gas-guzzling vehicles weren't an issue with the next-to nothing price of fuel. However, times have changed; they always do.

Do you ever feel that vehicle research is too daunting of a task? That there are too many layers to peel back, and the layer before always needs to be explained by the layer before that? This is how I feel about pickup trucks. I am absolutely baffled by the different types of truck styles - and more so confused by what each one means and what kind of driving style they permit.

For kids and husbands, The October-November months mean days of long johns and extra pairs of socks; for moms, these months are an annual game. It's not necessarily a game they look forward to, but rather a challenge they await with gritted teeth. How long can they wait to turn on the heat?

While different families may apply slight variations, the practice of this tradition is reverently kept.   More and more people I know are jumping on the fake-tree bandwagon - which, I'll be honest, I don't understand. Sure, it's cleaner I GUESS, but what's Christmas without some extra vacuuming?

A Special Thank You

September 26th marked the day of the third annual Driving for the Cure, a fundraiser golf tournament dedicated to the memory of Tom Cosenzi, who passed away after battling a brain tumor. The proceeds from the tournament go directly to Dr. Patrick Wen and his cancer-research team at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. In the past two years, the tournament has gratefully raised large sums of money to further Dr. Wen's research.

Showing the Essence of Christmas through Toys for tots

What Christmas traits get you most excited for this time of the year? For some, it's the fact that Christmas season lasts over a month (guilty). Others may most enjoy the music, the festive foods, or the surprised and grateful looks on the faces of gift recipients (also guilty). No matter what devastation or hardship life may bring, Christmas seems like a constant source of joy and hope.
